Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse the digital presence in a public agency’s social network in Brazil and, particularly, how the marketing discourse produced by Controladoria Geral da União works on its profile on Facebook, which is the agency’s most penetrating and popular social media vehicle. Its corpus is composed of CGU´s posts with the highest number of target audience comments, shares and likes made by the agency during March 2019. The uses of psychological convincing techniques applied in the construction of strategic communication content were observed in order to understand the persuasive force of the messages conveyed.
